Hosted by the family owned De Opstal Country Lodge Albertus & Matilda de Bod, owners of De Opstal Country Lodge, would like to invite you to an exclusive tour to one of the world’s largest ostrich enterprises, owned by Piet Schoeman, Matilda’s brother.

AUTHENTIC

The emphasis is an animal friendly (no riding or sitting on ostriches), authentic farm in operation experience and NOT the commercial show farm experience.

PERSONAL

Albertus de Bod (an ostrich farmer himself) will personally escort you in an open ostrich-viewing pick-up truck to experience the following:
  • breeding birds in the field and their nests
  • chick rearing operations
  • feeding
  • beautiful unspoilt Little Karoo vegetation
  • the hatchery (very, very interesting)
  • flock movement
  • dosing & plucking
  • authentic ostrich curio shop

Monday - Saturday 09h00-11h00 (afternoon tours can be arranged)

Costs
Adults - R 100 per person
Children (u/12 yrs) - R 75 per person (must be accompanied by a parent)

Tours will be conducted in English, Afrikaans & Dutch
