Our story dates back to the 1800's. Located 14 km from Oudtshoorn in Schoemanshoek,  De Opstal consists of a group of typical Little Karoo farm buildings constructed in 1860. Since, the buildings have been beautifully restored and fitted with modern conveniences, set in a lush, tranquil landscaped garden for a comfortable and peaceful stay.  

Each of the rooms at De Opstal are air-conditioned and equipped with a satellite TV, fireplace, and tea-and-coffee-making facilities, and each have an en suite bathroom.

 

De Opstal also hosts the most memorable, bespoke weddings for those wanting to celebrate with exclusivity.  From  romantic and vintage to alternative and whimsical  themes, we can help you make your big day, a dream come true. The wedding venue can cater for up to 250 guests.

Our restaurant can be hired for smaller weddings, birthday parties, family reunions and other special occasions that can take up to 110 guests.
